Research for publication
I have been looking at different artists and publications, and noting some of the aspects that I would like to incorporate into my own publication. Some of these spects includes the use of hand-drawn, craft-like, organic imagery.
I want to take this style, and work it in with my actual topic and subject, Futuristic Fashion.Want to look at how fashion has developed, and how it could continue to develop in the future. Besides the style. Fashion could become more than just clothing, it could be of such conveinence. Clothing that changes from hot to cold in order to suit your body temperture, mary-poppins bags that could hold everything, shoes that lace themselves, and so on.
I have looked at artists such as Anna Higgie, Pascal Demeester, Phil Poynter, and Josh Olin's. These artists all demonstrate their own take on what fashion may become. Themes of robitic themed clothing - simplified, sleek, and designed to emphasize a womens shape in a completly new and odd form.Clothing is completly simplified in some examples, yet in others, it shows garments of several different patterns, matarials, and colours.
Animal prints are more commonly used - does this show how animal extinction will be occuring in the future, due to the high demand and popularity in regards to clothing. I have been working with materials in my most recent pieces, using lace, ink, cardboard, thread, ribbons, textured paper etc. I am playing around with these sort of materials as I think these are the sort of things I need to incorporate to create that hand-made 'feel' throughout it as a whole.
Really enjoying this topic at the moment, and the type of style I am working with recently. :)
